Judge Mark Doherty Speaks on Domestic Violence, October 27, 2009 PDF Print E-mail

As a judge in the juvenile court system, Mark Doherty has gained experience with the Family in Need of Services process, a legislatively created type of juvenile court proceeding in which interagency social work services are provided to families and children, who often sign contracts for school and family progress rather than go through court adjudication.

Judge Doherty will speak about how these and other special programs within the juvenile court system interact in adjudicating the cases of juvenile delinquents whose cases present issues of family or interpersonal violence, as well as how domestic violence issues are identified by the juvenile court system.
